Haverland Carter is a faith based 501(c)(3) not-for-profit company, originally started when four churches came together in 1979 to create a high quality, ethical senior living facilities following our Christian values.In 2005, a third phase was added to accommodate higher level of care with 32 private apartment units. In 2015, Sommerset Assisted Living was acquired by Haverland Carter LifeStyle Group, a not-for-profit, with the aim to make Sommerset even better!

Assisted living is a special combination of housing, personalized support services and health care designed to respond to the individual needs of those who need help with activities of daily living, but do not need the specialized care of a nursing home.
Assisted living care promotes independence and dignity for each resident and encourages the involvement of the resident's family, neighbors and friends; staff is available to meet scheduled and unscheduled needs.
This level of care provides additional services that may be needed to have a resident maintain a higher degree of independence.
